"Genie in a Bottle"
No, not that “Genie in a Bottle.”
Kendall’s track shares a title with Christina Aguilera’s 1999 classic, but the resemblance pretty much ends there. Released in July 2026, his “Genie in a Bottle” is a breezy, slightly lovesick track about wanting someone so badly that, if a genie did happen to show up, there would be very little debate over where those three wishes were going.
Subtle? Not particularly.
Relatable? Unfortunately, yes.
Kendall knows the situation is messy, knows the person he wants may not exactly be available, and still cannot stop imagining the version where everything works out in his favor. It captures that dangerous stage of a crush when rational thinking has left the building, and suddenly even magical intervention feels like a reasonable solution.
At just over two minutes, “Genie in a Bottle” also understands one of the better trends in current pop and R&B. Get in, establish the mood, leave before anyone thinks about skipping. The hook does most of the heavy lifting, circling around the wish that this person could simply be his, while the verses give just enough context to make the fixation feel specific rather than generic. You hear it once, then somehow it is playing again.
Kendall
Kendall is still early enough in his career that discovering him feels a little like getting there before everyone else does.
His catalog began expanding rapidly across 2025 and 2026, with tracks including “Obsessed,” “Temptations,” “Young n Reckless,” “Giuseppe Heels,” “All Around the World,” “SWAG,” and most recently “Sayonara.” Apple Music currently lists “Sayonara,” released September 11, as his latest single, while Spotify places his audience at more than 330,000 monthly listeners.
Kendall also appears to be building that audience in a distinctly modern way. His official presence under @soundsbykendall connects listeners directly to his music, videos, social accounts, and even a Discord community, while his songs have increasingly found traction through short-form platforms such as TikTok.
